Zimbabwe Projects
Xen Arts has been working in Zimbabwe since 2009 delivering projects and residencies to young people in orphanages, schools, community centres and dance organisations.
Most recently we have collaborated with charity Oasis delivering empowerment projects to children living on the streets and young women. We worked closely with Zvishamiso Arts who are based in Harare to understand the best way to deliver these projects.

Zimbabwe 2016
In 2016 we returned to work with young women based at Oasis in Harare. Oasis run a course for young women who have experienced domestic abuse or trauma.

We spent three weeks in Harare this year with volunteer dance artist Lucy Crook, rehearsing, organising and presenting our Youth Festival.

It was good to be back in Harare this year working with Brian Geza Artistic Director of Zvishamiso Arts.

The money we raised from Tongue Tied? 09 enabled us to set up a small youth dance project in Tafara, a community just outside Harare.
